Physical Interventions At Home                                                    

1.      Heating pads

Ø  work well during the night

Ø  Give temporary relief during sleep

Ø  Distract your mind from pain

2.      Hot or Luke warm bath before bed

Ø  Dilate (open up) your blood vessels to open and creates more room for RBC’s to flow easier

Ø  Relaxes your muscles so you don’t get a Charlie horse or muscle spasm

3.      Drink Decaffeinated Tea with Lemon and Honey

Ø  Helps you sleep better

4.      Eat a light Snack before bed

Ø  Warm milk

Ø  Bananas

Ø  Peanuts

Ø  Oatmeal

Ø   All contain an amino acid (tryptophan)that convert in to serotonin and melatonin to induce sleep

            Light Exercise

1.      Can help strengthen weak muscles as long as you

Ø  Drink plenty of fluids during and after

Ø  Keep warm, don’t over exert and raise your body temperature

Ø  Take regular breaks
